What if God was one of us?

A famous song title, a catchy 7-words sentence, an absurd or incomplete question... "What if God was one of us?".
The muslims would find it scandalous to bring up such a subject or to imply that Allah could be a human, one of us. The jews would reply that one day, God will be one of us, and he'll be the long-waited saviour. As for the christians, they'd affirm that he once was one of us, almost 2000 years ago.

"What if God was one of us?" That question seems to have different reactions, but it somehow reunites everyone together. It is more than a question. It is an answer: God is one of us. God is one of the human beings, no matter where they are or who they are or where they belong or what belongs to them.

God is one of us. God is each one of us.

God is each one of us. No matter who we are, no matter who He is.

It seems sometimes that our convictions define who He is, and therefore who we are. It seems sometimes that we are the creators of The creator. It seems sometimes that our faith in Him conditions His own existence. It seems sometimes that the divine is not merely divine, but only human... purely human that it exceeds our apprehension of it, for we are not purely human.
It seems sometimes...

Most of the time, if not all the time, we can feel that God is each one of us. Each one of us is a little God. And in order to reach our inner divinity, we have to find our inner humanity. And heaven can be found here on earth, while we're still living. Heaven is the world around us that we create. We are little Gods in the meaning that we have the ability to change the world we're living in, we have the power to change our lives and others' lives. We are little gods because we were, we are, we will be, but most of all because we can be. We are little gods searching for our lost divinity. Some think they will find it after their death. Some think they will never be able to find it. But in order to find it, in order to reach God, all you have to do is look around you, listen, watch, and do. Do the right thing, do the humane thing, the divine thing. Go up, up, higher... away. Your actions, your thoughts, can lead you there. Just listen to the voice... not outside, not transcendent... the voice inside you. It comes from within. It's not strange... it's the obviousness itself.
